Maria Touri is a Lecturer in Media and Communication at the University of Leicester. Her current research focuses on development communication in the context of the global market and food networks, and on the capacity building of communities in the global South. She is also exploring the role of communication in building sustainable markets and alternative economic spaces. Her previous work has focused on participatory journalism practices, and the impact of online tools on journalism practices in Greece.
